August, 2015 – Cosgrove Law Group, LLC is proud to welcome Burton H. Shostak, an award winning litigator, as counsel. Burt received his J.D. from Washington University. He has handled numerous civil and criminal cases in trial and appellate courts. Burt is a well known and respected figure in the legal community with a strong history of advocating fiercely for his clients.
Burt is also a former member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL) and is a Life Member of NACDL. He has authored articles published in The Champion, a publication of NACDL, and is a regular instructor at the National Criminal Defense College in Macon, Georgia, and the Intensive Trial Advocacy Program at Cardozo Law School in New York. He lectures on matters concerning trial skills for various state and local bar associations.
Not surprisingly, Burt was voted one of the best lawyers in America in 2008 and 2009 and was named a “Super Lawyer” by KC Magazine. He was also the recipient of the Lon O. Hocker Award, given by the Missouri Bar to a lawyer, in recognition of his trial ability. Burt is licensed in Missouri, Illinois, and Florida.
